YARN
RED HEART Kids, 5oz/141g balls, each approx 290yds/265m (acrylic)
• 1 ball #2652 Lime (A)
• 1 ball #2390 Red (B)

CROCHET HOOK
• Size I/9 (5.5mm) crochet hook or any size to obtain correct gauge

NOTIONS
• Tassel maker or 3"/7.5cm x 5”/12.5cm piece of thick cardboard
• Yarn needle

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Approx 18½"/47cm circumference (stretches to fi t 20”/51cm head) x 21"/53.5cm long (excluding tassel)

GAUGE
12 sts and 8 rows in pattern (3 rows dc, 1 row sc) = 4"/10cm square.
Remember to check gauge for best results!

HOW TO MAKE A GAUGE SWATCH
Ch 14.
Row 1 Dc in 4th ch from hook (3 skipped chs count as fi rst dc), dc in each remaining ch across—12 dc.
Row 2 Ch 3 (counts as fi rst dc here and throughout), turn; dc in next st and in each st across, dc in fi rst skipped ch.
Row 3 Ch 3, turn; dc in next st and in each st across, dc in 3rd ch of turning ch-3.
Row 4 Ch 1, turn; sc in fi rst st and in each st across, sc in 3rd ch of turning ch-3—12 sc.
Row 5 Ch 3, turn; dc in next st and in each st across—12 dc.
Rows 6 and 7 Repeat Row 3, 2 times.
Row 8 Repeat Row 4.
Resulting gauge swatch should measure approx 4"/10cm square. If necessary, adjust hook size to obtain correct gauge.
