Sole - Round 1

Hi There! I'm confused by the last instruction in round 1. Where exactly should I place my slip stitch? The directions read: "join with sl st in first sc". I am on the opposite end from the first sc in the work. Have I made a mistake? Thanks in advance!

rotate

Note in Round 1 it says to "rotate piece to work along opposite side of foundation chain." After you do that you'll be back to where you started, which is how you can work the slip stitch in the first sc!

snuggly slippers

I am new to crochet, in fact the twirly scarf was my first pattern project. I am onto the snuggly slippers... What does it mean to "rotate piece & work on the opposite side of the foundation?

let me try to explain

So you've worked a foundation chain and then worked back into it, as per normal. Now, instead of turning it around to work back into those stitches you just made, you sort of continue around and work down the foundation chain again, making a sort of long oval going up one side and back down the other. You'll be working into the *bottom* of the stitches you just made.

upper

These are adorable! I just started the upper. Shouldn't the wrong side face down when you start since you are working in the back loops? Or maybe you should work in the front loops?
