Pattern Sizes would be nice

I know that I could look at my issues to find this out, but I also know that if I didn't have this pattern it would be nice to know what sizes this pattern is for.

Candyland Blanket?

Is it possible to make a baby blanket, using this pattern? Any help would be welcome. Thanks!

certainly!

Note on the top of page 62 the Fancy Stitch Pattern is defined; use this pattern continuously to make a blanket. Work up a swatch first so that you can determine how big you'll make it.

Candyland sweater

I'm making the 6 month sweater and am up to row 7 (whew!). I love the way you did row 1 breakdown. It makes it easier to follow the pattern. Wish me luck with the sleeves.

Problems? YES

I am having major problems with this pattern. I am working on the 6 month size.
I did the Yoke ok.
But am now stuck when trying to do the 1st Body row (where you ch3 to create arm holes) i get the right number of shells and the right number of overall stitches, but the front plackets have different numbers of stitches, so the opening will not be in the direct center. I hope this makes sense. I am very frustrated. I have done it and taken it apart 3 times already always to get the same result.
Any Help would be appreciated
Thanks!

let's see if we can help!

We were happy to hear that you've worked the yoke without difficulty. We've reviewed the instructions for the first row of the body and find no errors. When you've completed the row, you should have 3 shells for the first front, a ch-3 for the armhole, 6 shells for the back, a ch-3 for the other armhole, and 3 shells for the second front.

In trying to determine what might be going wrong for you, we thought perhaps you were not skipping the correct number of ch-3 sps when working the underarm chains. Notice that the instructions say to "sk next 3 (4, 4, 5) ch-3 sps." The ch-3 sps are those in the (sc, ch 3, sc) (not in the shells, which contain ch-2 sps). So, to skip 3 ch-3 sps, you'd also be skipping 4 shells (distributed between the ch-3 sps). Could this be the source of the misunderstanding?

Here's a detailed breakdown of Row 1 for the 6 month size. You should have the following when you complete Row 1 of the Body.

1. A beginning (ch-3 sp and sc) + shell + (sc, ch 3, sc) + shell + (sc, ch 3, sc) + shell (for first front)
2. ch-3 (for underarm)
3. (skip shell + (sc, ch 3, sc) + shell + (sc, ch 3, sc) + shell + (sc, ch 3, sc) + shell)
4. shell + (sc, ch 3, sc) + shell + (sc, ch 3, sc) + shell + (sc, ch 3, sc) + shell + (sc, ch 3, sc) + shell + (sc, ch 3, sc) + shell (for back)
5. ch-3 (for underarm)
6. (skip shell + (sc, ch 3, sc) + shell + (sc, ch 3, sc) + shell + (sc, ch 3, sc) + shell)
7. shell + (sc, ch 3, sc) + shell + (sc, ch 3, sc) + shell + (sc, ch 1, hdc) (for second front)

Also, note that the (ch-3 sp and sc) at the beginning of a row are equivalent to the (sc, ch 1, hdc) at the end of a row (perhaps this is the source of the confusion).

Error in pattern?

I'm a new crocheter, but i think rows 2,3,and 4 have a mistake (have only gotten to row 5). The 2nd [ ] in each of these three rows should be a repeat of the 1st [ ]. This works out for me following the 2 years size.
Has anyone found any more problems?
Thank you.

you are correct!

You are absolutely correct, there is a typo in Rows 2-4. A correction appear below. In summary, the "2" before the first "hdc" in the 2nd set of brackets [] should not be there.

Row 2 Ch 2 (counts as hdc here and throughout), turn, hdc in next 4 (5, 5, 6) hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next 3 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, [hdc in next 2 (3, 3, 4) hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc] 3 times, hdc in next 11 (13, 13, 15) hdc, [hdc in next 2 (3, 3, 4) hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc] 3 times, 2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next 3 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in last 5 (6, 6, 7) hdc—59 (69, 69, 79) hdc.

Row 3 Ch 2, turn, hdc in next 4 (5, 5, 6) hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next 4 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, [hdc in next 3 (4, 4, 5) hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc] 3 times, hdc in next 13 (15, 15, 17) hdc, [hdc in next 3 (4, 4, 5) hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc] 3 times, 2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next 4 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in last 5 (6, 6, 7) hdc—69 (79, 79, 89) hdc.

Row 4 Ch 2, turn, hdc in next 5 (6, 6, 7) hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next 5 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, [hdc in next 4 (5, 5, 6) hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc] 3 times, hdc in next 13 (15, 15, 17) hdc, [hdc in next 4 (5, 5, 6) hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc] 3 times, 2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next 5 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in last 6 (7, 7, 8) hdc—79 (89, 89, 99) hdc.

Thanks for the great catch! I will add this to the errata.
