help please?

i'm trying to make the candy cane and I'm a bit confused with switching colours. Do I cut the threads of the old colour off each time I switch to a different colour? I've tried leaving both colours attached but then there are diagonal linese when I pick up the old colour again. Any hints?

carry colors on the inside

If you carry the color on the inside of the candy cane, it shouldn't be noticeable from the outside.

i've been to about 4

i've been to about 4 different stores and no one sells the magazine, so how do i get the patterns?
