Last-Minute Crochet Gifts!

It happens to the best of us every holiday season. We make our lists, we check them twice, and then somehow we manage to find ourselves in the last week before Christmas without a gift for a special someone. Here, Kathryn shares a roundup of free crochet patterns that you can easily put together just in time to toss under the tree.

Lightning Fast Crochet Patterns
Let’s start with a roundup of some of our favorite crochet projects that work up so quickly you can still get them done and wrapped before Christmas morning.

Bulky Hat

Hats are good gifts for almost anyone. Both the Boutique Cloche and Reversing the Beanie, designed by Katherine Eng, are soft hats worked with bulky yarn so they crochet up super quickly.

Gadget Cozy
Everyone in your life has a phone, tablet, camera or other gadget they need to keep safe from harm. A cozy is the perfect way to do that and a quick gift to crochet. Try this free pattern for an iPod cozy.

Accessories and Jewelry
Add some sparkle to someone’s life by making them some new crochet bling to show off. The Bevy of Bangles by Brenda K.B. Anderson are a good place to start.

Crochet Embellishments
Whip up a quick crochet wine bag for your host's favorite wine.

Or crochet some coffee cozies to add to a package of their favorite coffee..

A crochet bow or yarn pom pom makes a box of chocolates even sweeter.

Finally, need a last-minute gift for a friend who crochets? Search your stash for some beautiful unused yarn, create a handmade book of free patterns from the web, or give a gift subscription to Crochet Today (or their favorite magazine) for a gift that will keep on giving all year long.

Happy Holidays!
