Winter has approached us sooner than we expected. In addition, for this summer I have decided to make some crochet blankets so that I could resist the frisky cold. Your site has helped me to learn about the art of making the crochet blankets.

Another "grad'ghan" pattern

I only just saw this blog post after placing my subscription order for Crochet Today; however, I just recently finished a "grad'ghan" for my college-bound daughter also.  Since I wasn't yet aware of your magazine when I started, I used the "Super-Easy Granny Afghan" pattern from  The completed afghan is about 48"x72" (nearly big enough for a bedspread all by itself), and my daughter loves it.  My spouse must like it, too, since he's already asked me to make a second afghan for our living room couch!.

I'm currently working on a matching slipcover for the folding storage ottoman which my daughter received as a graduation present (which by itself is in colors which clash with everything else which will be in her dorm room).  I found a pattern on the Red Heart yarn website; however, I'm adapting the color changes to match those of my daughter's afghan.

Looking forward to finding lots of great project ideas in your magazine, of course!
