Folding Fan CAL update!

We had a fun crochetalong (CAL) for Dora Ohrenstein's Folding Fans scarf, from our March/April 2012 issue. Many different versions of the scarf were made, and we're delighted to show off a few for you today!

CraftyMadWoman (Alma, to her friends!) did a beautiful job with a slightly variegated sky blue yarn.

XineGirl called it her "Black Fan of Elegance," and made it for her assistant—that black really sets off the pattern!

Dkowen also picked blue, an especially vibrant shade.

Sschuler10 brings us a lovely version in lilac—and she even used stash yarn!

PeppyChristian, Amanda, found a fantastic springy green yarn to try, and it's a success. We've been seeing a lot of that shade of green recently, too!

AnotherYarn9 seems ready to start a Folding Fans Fan Club! She's made THREE scarves that are on Ravelry so far! This one is in a smaller gauge than the pattern called for, so she made more fans. It looks fabulous!

The pink yarn she chose for this one made a substantial and cozy-looking scarf. (But will it keep that young lady warm when she's out sleeveless in the snow?!)

This third scarf of hers is a masterpiece, crocheted from exquisite handspun wool. The colors shift beautifully, and the rhythm of the pattern shines through.
If these completed projects make you want to pick your own hook and yarn, you're in luck! The March/April 2012 issue is available in our online store, and single-issue downloads are available from some of our digital providers.
